Current Event: Man Kills Wife and 5 Children

This blog is dedicated to Geurline Damas, 32, and her children Michzach, 9, Marven, 6, Maven, 5, Megan, 3 and 11-month-old Morgan.

He beats her in front of her children.
She has called the police on him several times.
She's appears before a judge on the regular.
But her words can't form.
As much as her shut blackened eye yells to the judge "Help me! He did it!"
Her heart causes her mouth to whisper, "I want the restraining order lifted."
The judge asks, "Why?"
She responds, because she believed that a father should be with his children.
Her father was taken too soon, and she knew what the absence of a father felt like. Something that hurt more than blows to the face and kicks to the womb.
But she had faith that he wouldn't hit her again.

She was right. He wouldn't hit her again.

That night the kids put themselves in bed.
No stories, no kisses.
This time he would take it slow with her.
No questioning.
No argument.
No yells.
No huge bruises.
No tears from her or the kids.
Less pain than what she was use to.

He intimately carved a smile over her throat.
For the first time he experienced joy.
If she couldn't be with him then she couldn't be with anyone else.
Euphoria at its finest.

As he walked out of their bedroom he locked the door behind him.
With the knife still in his hand, he entered the children's room.
He would kill the oldest first and the baby last.
He became okay with the idea of taking his children's life because he was the one who brought them in the world and so he had the right to take them out.

He knew not to sit on the eldest bed because he was a light sleeper.
So he stood over his 9 year old son covered his mouth smiled on him . . .
He smiled 2 more time on his young victims before his smiles turned into frowns.
Within seconds his joy turned into gloom.

With bloodied hands he prayed that he would be forgiven.

Within hours he was on the next flight to Haiti. Within days he was captured. Within weeks they were buried.

Thanks. Initially when i tried to blog about this story I was going to retell the news story. But I knew that their had to be a story. many time we speak from outside of the box. We ask, "Why didnt she leave?" When we should be asking, "Why is he hitting her?" But thanks again, I really just wanted for people to see her and her children as the victim.
