I really don't know how I feel about this... there are so many Black children that need a good home, why would they get a white baby?

well, if they adopted that child, it is because that white child needed a home too.

There are many black children who need a home, but there are also lots of white children who need it too.

Who cares about the colour if they are good parents??

I can't believe this is being made about race. A child got a home. It's sad that any child doesn't have a home, whether black or white or whatever. It's really sad and disgusting that they are being criticized for adopting this beaitiful little girl, because of her and their races. White parents adopt black children, do you judge? You probably do cause you're not showing good character here. I can only pray that the acceptance gets better.

For one the child is hispanic. Two it doesn't matter. I don't understand why so many people want to make this about race. a child needs a good home give them one. Rediculous.

We are a loving black couple that adopted white child and we're out in public all the time. . Our daughter (adopted at three years old) needed a home and parents to love and care for her, color of her skin played little part in our decision so we allowed her to make the choice and she choose love not race. The first night she was with us as we sat and watched cartoons she said spontaneously "you my Mommy." My response was to remind her of my given name and then I said, "sweetheart do you know what your saying," and she responded, "yes I do,". Living in a realistic society were differences in race are overt and attitudes can be ridged I turned off the TV held out the top of my hand next to hers and said,"look at our hands the color is very different, does that bother you". Our daughter took her hand placed it gently on my cheek looked me directly in the eyes and repeated, "you are my Mommy". That interaction changed everything I knew she would be our daughter forever. She is well aware of our differences and that they will never change but she could care less. Now that she is older we have open discussions frequently and to this day she says, "I don't care my Mommy and Daddy love me and that's all that matters".
