The Plot Thickens . . .

Remember a while back when we spoke about Caster Semenya the South African sprinter whose gender was questioned. Well the IAAF say the test has determined that Semenya has no womb or ovaries. Semenya was also found to have internal testes and three times the amount of testosterone that a “normal” female would have. Thus, she is a hermaphrodite (someone with both male and female sexual characteristics). The IAAF has not ruled out stripping Semenya of her 800m world championships gold medal. But I doubt that they will.

Anywho, best of luck to her. She didn't ask to be born this way. I think she has chosen to live as a woman and I don't think that we should take that right away from her.

The first question that came to my mind was how would the IAAF go about determining her gender. What tests would they perform? The IAAF said in the past, they used to do a gynecological exam, blood test, and chromosome test. But these results were challenged. Now the IAAF says they do everything. What is everything, I have no clue. I've tried to research it but these tests have not been revealed.

It's hard enough being a woman without the continuous attacks questioning your womanhood. Let her live and let live. No one is stripping anything away from Lady Gaga. Let her enjoy her accomplishment...she earned at least that!
